• The comprehensive overview on TiO2/textile composites is provided. functionalities of TiO2-modified textile surfaces are highlighted. mechanisms action TiO2 to provide presented. Strategies improve the photocatalytic activity textiles discussed. TiO 2 has already established itself as one most attractive nanomaterials for functionalisation due its unique structural, physicochemical, optical and electrical properties, nontoxicity low cost. This review paper provides a recent advances in chemical physical modification fibres with nanoparticles nano-/microstructures summarises important findings application processes performance -modified substrates. Photocatalytic self-cleaning, antimicrobial activity, UV protection, hydrophobicity, thermal stability, flame retardancy conductivity highlighted central discussion topics review. Insights into providing functional properties presented; influence various factors functionality shown; latest strategies surface enhance visible light including multiphase heterojunctions, ion doping, metal doping/loading, coupling other semiconductors sensitization, presents some new ideas producing -functionalized suggests future research perspectives directions this area.
